The book „When Kaunas was Kaunas“ written by a historian Giedre Mileryte-Japartiene takes its readers back to some beautiful summer days of 1938 and shows the ‚temporary capital‘ Kaunas in eyes of a local official of that time. The man takes a train from Klaipeda to Kaunas to manage the affairs in Ministry of Finance, as well as to spend some good time in a city that was then rapidly becoming more beautiful and modern than ever before. Let‘s take that adventurous yet mysterious trip to the temporary capital Kaunas together.

The event will be held in Lithuanian, however, you’re welcome to attend with your Lithuanian – English translator!
