Stanislovas Žilevičius has been playing the carillon in Klaipėda since 1987. Over the course of a year, he performs over 60 concerts and continuously performs in carillon music festivals both in Lithuania and abroad. He has also performed in Europe and USA.
In his programmes S. Žilevičius often connects the carillon and other instruments – he has performed with orchestras, choirs and electronica. The carilloneur’s programmes also boast a broad variety of music, ranging from baroque to contemporary music. Aside from actively performing, S. Žilevičius works at Klaipėda University and has authored many publications on the methodics of playing the carillon and both original music pieces and arrangements for the carillon.
S. Žilevičius dedicates his concert at Kaunas International Carillon Music Festival to the centennial of the Restored State of Lithuania. Fittingly, it will feature well-known Lithuanian composers and folk songs.
