February 9 at 7 p.m. we invite you to the presentation of the light and sound installation “Užuoglauda/Shelter”. The author of the installation is AUSTĖJA AUŠKALNYTĖ, a student of New Media Art at the Vytautas Magnus University.
Inertia, production, growth, consumerism and the breath of human to the rhythm of the city show how well we are integrated in a modern culture. Therefore, we often look for an escape from the chaos created by it – a shelter. All the symbols that appear in Austėja Auškalnytė’s installation become metaphors seeking to express meaning to a person searching for balance in a modern, inert society.
The installation will be open until February 17 in the gallery space of the Kaunas Artists’ House.*
* This year Kaunas Artists’ House opens an educational platform to visual and interdisciplinary art projects, in which students from various fields of art and culture, also artists and curators starting their careers are invited to participate.
