DeMo talks: artist Mark Buckeridge (Airija)

March 3/18:00 - 19:00

This year we continue the reciprocal residency programme DeMo. On March 3rd at 6 p.m., artist Mark Buckeridge, who resides at Kaunas Artists’ House, will present the performance “Lunchtime Broth”, speak about his artistic practice, and will make a short introduction to the research undertaken during his time in Kaunas.

Mark Buckeridge (b. 1991, Ireland) is an artist working in performance, image-making, installation, and sound. According to the artist, the power of music is the source of current social and political experience – encompassing the acts of fans, the phonetic traditions found in an ancient song, and the spiritual energy derived from communal listening.

Mark Buckeridge graduated with an MFA in Fine Art from Sandberg Institute, Amsterdam in 2019. He is the co-founder of the arts organisation Muine Bheag Arts. Recent exhibitions + projects include performances at Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2019) and OUTPOST, Norwich (2019), solo shows at Scaffold, Belfast (2020); Oude Kerk, Amsterdam (2019); Rietveld Pavilion, Amsterdam (2019) and Pallas Projects, Dublin (2016).
The main partner: CCA Derry~Londonderry
Reciprocal Residency DeMo is a part of Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022 programme.
