Announcing the results of Open Call Emerging within the Reciprocal Residency programme DeMo. The selected Ona Juciūtė will have a residency in CCA Derry~Londonderry in February, and the artist Mark Buckeridge will be arriving in Kaunas.
Ona Juciūtė, born and working in Vilnius, is a young sculptor. In her work, she is interested in the topics of production and industry. Coming from a family of carpenters for several generations, Ona tries to understand the hierarchical systems of different materials by observing the changing production conditions.
Mark Buckeridge, born and working in Belfast, is an interdisciplinary artist who mostly explores the power of music culture as a conduit for our current social and political experiences, from acts of fandom to aural traditions found in ancient song and the spiritual energies conjured from communal listening.
