Contemporary Dance Day Camp "Dance of Rebellion"

We invite you, young people aged 14-19, to discover contemporary dance. Together and without preconceived notions, through practice, experimentation, and direct involvement, we will explore dance and music creation methods, invent forms, and raise questions about "norm" and "normalcy". By moving intuitively and exchanging information about what various movement situations convey about issues that concern us, we will seek common ground and "embody" our life concepts.

Why? (motivation) – Through contemporary dance practice, critically reflect on your roles and possibilities in society, primarily within our small and safe community.

How? (tools) – Applying dance practices for critical understanding, perception, and transformation of your body and environment.

What will come of it? (result) – Together we will create a video clip, discovering a form of art and non-art (what is not considered art) to visualize and vocalize the questions that matter to us.

The camp will take place from July 12-16, from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM at the Kaunas Artists' House. The camp will be led by dancer, choreographer, and educator Vilma Pitrinaitė. Participation is free.
