Weird Ugly Fish x URBA URBA | Concert

Weird Ugly Fish, a band that is not afraid of experimenting in their music, returns to Kaunas Artists' House. Having started their European tour in Vilnius last month, the band will finish it in Kaunas! Their genre boundaries defying music reflects a wide range of influences — from free jazz, krautrock, and punk rock to (but not limited to) IDM and ambient. This time, the Weird Ugly Fish performance will be joined by URBA URBA, an improvisational electronic music project by Julius Čepukėnas.

Weird Ugly Fish - Aistė Kalvelytė (drums) and Julius Čepukėnas (electronics) perform music that goes beyond genre boundaries. The compositions of Weird Ugly Fish are long, dynamic musical journeys that contrast improvisational elements with rigid constructions. In October of 2024, the band released their second album “Cannot Disappear”. The album release was followed by a video clip premiere.

URBA URBA is a solo project based on improvisation and live electronics. Hypnotic compositions absorb the crackles of drone, old-school synthesizer tones, and transform into a dense musical space that shifts between melodic and melancholic aesthetics.
