Carillon (French: carillon) - one of the most complex musical instruments in the world. The history of the instrument, consisting of a set of chromatically tuned bells, dates back 500 years. The intricacy of the music played on the carillon depends directly on the carillonneur's experience, professionalism, and physical readiness - playing with hands (fists, fingers), feet - often barefoot, to better feel the instrument.

Regular carillon concerts in Kaunas have been held for over 60 years, with the first carillonneurs in Kaunas being Giedrius and Viktoras Kuprevičiai. Today, the Kaunas carillon has 49 bells and an updated keyboard, with the largest bell "Kaunas" being a gift from Valdas and Alma Adamkus. The Kaunas carillon belongs to the Vytautas the Great War Museum (founded by the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania).

The program of carillon concerts during the warm season, on Sundays and public holidays, is coordinated by the Kaunas Artists' House.
