If our aim is to explore the farthest potentialities of being, we may well opt for disorderliness and randomness of love. In spite of what appears on the surface, the simplicity of the instant belongs to the man person, who spontaneously bewitched, is laid open to anguish.

George Bataille’s "Death and Sensuality"

To enter the exhibition of Zoe Williams is to enter the dream of the saddest myth of Eros. At first sight, you would think that the dream is focused intensively on erotic pleasure but if you look closely enough what is sought here is not satisfaction nor reproduction, but loss and abandonment. It is about giving oneself to the violence of life and embracing the chaotic movements of energies.

Here in the captivating exploration of sensuality, rebellion, and the ephemeral nature of existence, you are encouraged to leave the inertia of a serious life and embrace the high velocity of energies circling the world. Leaving the logic of understanding (of grasping the truth), Zoe Williams’ works try to enter the logic of immanence, in which truth is not seized, but created and experienced.

The Zoe Williams exhibition at the Kaunas Artists' House Gallery will be open until May 4. Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
